What Tax Reclaim reads from your BUX file
- Reads every row BUX categorises as a dividend, taking the ISIN from the asset id and the amount from the transaction amount.
- BUX's export declares Dividend Gross Amount, Dividend Net Amount and Dividend Tax Amount columns and leaves all three empty on real dividend rows, so the figure actually used is the cash transaction amount.
- Because no tax is reported and the amount is not labelled gross or net, the withholding is estimated from the source country's statutory non-resident rate and reviewed by you before anything is saved.
How to export from BUX

Open BUX transactions
In the BUX app, open your account and go to Transactions or Statements.

Select the period
Choose the date range covering the dividend payments you want to reclaim tax on.

Export the CSV
Request the transactions export as CSV. Dividend payments appear with the category dividends.

Upload to Tax Reclaim
Open the import wizard, pick BUX, and upload the CSV. Review each estimated withholding figure before confirming.
Frequently asked questions
BUX has a Dividend Tax Amount column — why is the tax estimated?
Because that column is empty on every real dividend row in a BUX export. If BUX starts populating it, the reported figure is used and nothing is estimated.
Which amount is imported?
The transaction amount, which is the cash booked to your account. Since BUX does not say whether that is before or after tax, you are asked before any estimate is shown.
