What Tax Reclaim reads from your Avanza file
- Pairs each "Utdelning" row with its matching "Utländsk källskatt" row by security and date, so the gross dividend and the foreign tax withheld become one entry.
- Reads Swedish decimal commas and the semicolon-delimited export without any manual setup.
- Uses the transaction currency the amount is actually booked in, not the instrument currency — the two differ on every foreign holding, and using the wrong one would misconvert the claim.
How to export from Avanza

Open your Avanza transactions
Log in to Avanza and go to Mina sidor > Transaktioner, where dividends and withholding tax are listed as separate rows.

Select the period
Choose the date range covering the dividend payments you want to reclaim tax on.

Export the CSV
Download the transaction list as CSV (Exportera transaktioner). It is semicolon-delimited with Swedish decimal commas.

Upload to Tax Reclaim
Open the import wizard, pick Avanza, and upload the CSV. Utdelning and Utländsk källskatt rows are matched automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Which file do I export from Avanza?
The Transaktioner export from Mina sidor — not the annual tax summary. It has one row per transaction, including Utdelning and Utländsk källskatt.
What if a källskatt row has no matching dividend?
It is reported as a warning rather than silently dropped, so you can see that the reclaimable amount would otherwise be understated.
Which currency is used?
The transaction currency the amount was booked in (usually SEK). Avanza also lists an instrument currency; using that against a SEK amount would produce a wrong conversion, so it is not used.
